Central Swimming


Central Swimming is an amalgamation of 4 regions - HBPB Swimming, Swimming Waikato, BOP Swimming and Taranaki.
It has the following objectives:

1. To provide uniform pathways for swimmers through the encouragement, pursuit and sharing of best practice coaching.
2. To create a professional community for networking, supporting and learning.
3. To enhance the profile of Central Swimming Incorporated.
4. To provide liaison with Regional Associations for swimmers and coaches education. 

1. Deliver the coaching plan with the support of the Administrative team.
2. Continue to improve the standard of competition with the 4 Regions.
3. Develop pathways for Coaches, Athletes and Team Managers so that they could be developed within the 4 Regions to a High Performance Level. 4. Continue to develop the Aquaknights brand.
5. Continue to develop a strong culture towards excellence in performance.

1. Offer a pathway for Coaches from Tri Series through Victoria Age, Victoria Opens then onto New Zealand teams.
2. Workshop utilizing experienced Coaches.
3. Networking between 4 Region Coaches. 
4. Partnership with the Swimming New Zealand High Performance Development Coach

Aquaknights is the name used for those elite swimmers that qualify for pinnavle meets within the Centrals Swimming calendar, as set by coaches within the Centrals Swimming region.

These meets are currently the Victoria Age Group Championships, Victoria Open Championships, and also incorporates the representatives at the SNZ Zonal Championships.

Criteria is set on an annual basis.
