BOP SC Winter Showdown Update

We hope you are all keeping safe and well during this continued time of uncertainty. The Swimming Bay of Plenty Board would like to advise the following, because of today’s announcement.
The Swimming BOP Short Course Winter Showdown scheduled for 4-6th September is CANCELLED.
We do apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. There is enormous interest from all regions and we do understand that any opportunity to get our athletes into the pool doing what we all love is important, as is, enduring the levels of constraint that we must all observe to keep everyone safe during these uncertain times.
GREAT NEWS!.. after a great level of discussion and consideration SBOP have decided to schedule the Swimming BOP Short Course Spring Showdown for the 11th-13th September. This will be held in place of the Winter Showdown. All entries will be automatically transferred over. For those that are unable to attend due to the change of date, refunds will be issued. Please email swimbopevents@gmail.com. This event will be part of the SNZ AON 2020 NZ Short Course Series.
Some important things to note:
• The Government's Review on level settings on Sunday 6th September will determine if the event will take place
• Level 4 – The meet will be cancelled
• Level 3 – Any Region(s) that must observe this alert level will not be eligible to enter the meet. Regions that have Alert Level 3 imposed will be excluded.
• Level 2 – Restrictions on person limit imposed by the Government may affect the ability to host this event. Compliance with the facility, management & alert level allowances for public at any one time are paramount. Regions that have Alert Level 3 imposed will be excluded.
• Level 1 – Meet will continue as planned. Regions that have Alert Level 3 imposed will be excluded.
• Entries for the event will be limited so enter NOW as demand is high for racing opportunities.
NOTE: In any event where SBOP hold the meet, this will be done so under the provisions required as set out by the Ministry of Health.
